About me
I am a qualified psychotherapist offering trauma-informed therapy for anxiety and emotional distress. As an Asian therapist, my work is grounded in cultural sensitivity and respect for diverse identities, family dynamics, and lived experiences.
My approach is integrative, drawing from Gestalt, psychodynamic, attachment-based, and person-centred therapies, alongside Somatic Experiencing (SE)–informed techniques. I work at a safe, steady pace, creating a supportive and inclusive space where you can feel understood and explore change with care and trust.
My Story
My journey into psychotherapy began in an unexpected way, through physical pain.
In 2011, I experienced intense and persistent pain that had no clear medical explanation. Tests came back normal, yet my body was clearly struggling. At the time, I did not have the language to understand what was happening, but I sensed that something deeper was asking for attention.
This experience became a turning point. It opened my eyes to how emotional stress and unresolved psychological pain can manifest in the body, and how deeply connected our mental and physical worlds truly are. Rather than seeing these symptoms as something “wrong,” I began to understand them as the body’s attempt to cope and communicate.
In 2012, I began a mindfulness practice that helped me slow down and listen more carefully to my body, my emotions, and my inner world. That practice laid the foundation for a longer path of learning and training. I later completed a BA in Psychology in 2018 and an MA in Arts Psychotherapy in 2022, deepening my understanding of trauma, anxiety, and emotional regulation.
Today, this lived experience continues to shape how I work. I approach therapy with curiosity, respect, and an appreciation for the ways people adapt to survive difficult experiences. I believe healing does not require force or intensity, but safety, time, and attuned support.
